DIY: Stars and Stripes Garland

We teamed up with Jaime Pederson, the mama behind the blog Peach + Goldie, to bring you a red, white, and cool DIY project. If you're looking for a fun craft to make with your kiddos to celebrate Memorial Day or 4th of July ... we've got you!

As the mom to 3 kids herself (shoutout to Kingston, Saylor, and Eisley!), Jaime knows a thing or two about creating fun projects where your little ones can get in involved.

So let's get into it!

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Yarn
Pom pom maker
Scissors
Wooden Stars
Paint
Glitter
Glitter cardstock
Embellishments
String
Needle

    STEP ONE:
Paint + add glitter to the wooden stars (pro tip: secure the glitter with Mod Podge or hairspray!)

    STEP TWO:
Choose your yarn and make some poms! Jaime used her 2 smallest pom makers and gave them a good trim.

    STEP THREE:
Cut mini flags + stars out of glitter cardstock or craft paper.

    STEP FOUR:
Determine the length of your garland and where you want your stars and embellishments to go.

    STEP FIVE:
Use a needle to thread on the poms and tulle, then hot glue the other embellishments to the string.

    VOILA!

Will you be making this cute garland to celebrate the summer holidays ahead? Show us your work of art by tagging @shopsweetwink and @jaimepederson ... we can't wait to see your creations!

    xoxo,
    Samantha, Wendi, and Jaime
